Thanks to $250,000 in state funding, the city of Watervliet plans to invest in the expansion of its security camera system.
City officials said there are currently 16 cameras in place across the city.
That number is expected to grow to more than 70.
Potential camera locations include City Hall, the public library, local parks and other high-traffic areas.
Smart House Watervliet Mayor Charles Patricelli also says in addition to replacing old infrastructure, the expansion will reduce overall repair costs for residents.
