Now back with the Gunners in north London, the 26-year-old is in the early stages of battling back from surgery.

Jesus is undertaking an extensive period of rehab which sees him carrying out a number of exercises to build up the strength in his affected knee.

But taking to social media, the striker was keen to give supporters an update on his recovery.

On Instagram, he wrote: "Evolving everyday," with a strong arm emoji.

Jesus's post was also met with support from Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Brazilian defender's translated post said: "Stay strong brother".

Eddie Nketiah has been playing in Jesus's absence for Arsenal, scoring two goals in three matches since the resumption of the Premier League season.

MIkel Arteta has been delighted over his performances, as he remarked: “[I have] more faith in him every single day.

“We see every day what he brings to the team, what he is as a human being and the way he is developing as a player.”

Commenting on Jesus' injury last month, Arteta failed to disclose when he will be returning to action.

He remarked: "With Gabi it’s difficult to put a time frame. I never gave a date. I said that we don’t know.

"It’s going to take some time for sure.

"He’s gone through surgery and that tells you the extent of the injury."
