Gloria Olson, Senneca vice president of human resources, filed a May 24 notice about the closing with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, as required by the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act. Olson stated in the notice the site, which is not represented by a union, will close permanently.

Olson did not return a phone call from Plastics News seeking comment on the closing.

Senneca also owns Chase Industries Inc. of Cincinnati and 17 other brands including TMI, Thermoseal, Durulite, Saino, Fib-R-Dor, Chem-Pruf, Subzero and Tiger.

In 2020, Senneca said it was laying off a total of 91 workers at a TMI site in Pittsburgh and a Thermoseal plant in Gloucester City, N.J. Senneca is owned by private equity firm Kohlberg & Co. LLC of Mount Kisco, N.Y.
